Do You Have a Cute Decatur Baby?

Of course you do! Blue Caboose invites you to submit a snapshot of your baby to our Decatur Baby photo contest! This is a fun, free opportunity to show off babies from birth up to 12 months old!

Snapshots must be taken in a Decatur City setting and submitted in person to Blue Caboose by September 30. Two winners will be chosen, one boy and one girl, to each receive $100 in store credit!

Registration Opens for Baby Sign Class

The Baby Sign Language and Healthy Brain Development class will start on Friday, July 16. The class will meet at 11am each Friday for 5-weeks. Each 45-minute session includes basic sign language and information on the roles nutrition and exercise play in brain development. Class participants learn through discussion and creative play. Blue Caboose to Host 5-Week Baby Sign Class!

Parents and caregivers a like turned out for the Baby Sign Language and Healthy Brain Development class held this morning at Blue Caboose! Some of the signs Ms. Zimet introduced included "More", "Happy", "Sad", "Book" and "Dog". Participants sang songs adding basic sign and took home "handmade" gifts for Daddy! Lauren ZImet, M.S.,CCC/SLP will be teaching a 5-week Baby Sign and Healthy Brain Development class at Blue Caboose in July. Check back soon for the details!

Celebrate Father's Day with a Free Baby Sign Class!

Lauren Zimet from Early Insights will be here at 10:30 AM this Saturday, June 19th. During this free 30-45 minute session, Ms. Zimet will discuss the cognitive and behavioral benefits of early language learning, while introducing parents/caregivers to some of the basic elements of baby signing. No pre-registration is needed and all are welcome to participate. Come join us at this fun and interactive event!

Blue Caboose Presents Storytime!

Blue Caboose will hold storytime for 20 minutes each week starting in July! Greg Dobrasz, a stay-at-home Dad and promising new children's fiction book writer, will read stories designed for children up to the age of 4. Storytime is free and offers parents and caregivers the opportunity to introduce children to reading and language in an interactive, fun way.
